There are two great rules of life, the one general and the other particular. The first is that everyone can, in the end, get what he wants if he only tries. This is the general rule. The particular rule is that every individual is more or less an exception to the general rule. ---Samuel Butler The purpose of life is living. Men and woman should get the most they can out of their lives. The smallest, the tiniest intellect may be quite as valuable to itself; it may have all the capacity for enjoyment that the wisest has. ---Clarence Darrow Give me the luxuries of life and I will willingly do without the necessities. ---Frank Lloyd Wright We live not as we wish to, but as we can. ---Menander Do not take life too seriously; you will never get out of it alive. ---Elbert Hubbard Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards. ---Soren Kierkegaard Life is worth living...since it is what we make it. ---William James Learning without thought is labor lost; thought without learning is perilous. ---Confucius If you make people think they're thinking, they'll love you. If you really make them think, they'll hate you. ---Don Marquis The only means of strengthening one's intellect is to make up one's mindabout nothing-to let the mind be a thoroughfare for all thoughts. ---John Keats |

"Sayings" If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything. Getting something done is an accomplishment; getting something done right is an achievement. Never be too big to look up to someone. The best way to give advice is to set a good example. Not all luck is good, and not all good is luck. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice. Remember where you came from. Two wrongs don't make a right. A man can fail many times, but he isn't a failure till he gives up. Good judgement comes from experience, and experience comes from poor judgement. Modesty is the art of encouraging people to find out for themselves how wonderful you are. You're only as old as you act and as you feel. Gratitude can only be given, not taken. |
